NAD Legislative Advocacy Training Workshop
Oregon and Washington State Association of the Deaf invites you to attend the
NAD Legislature Advocacy Training Workshop
February 21 & 22, 2015
This two-day workshop is led by a NAD trainer and you will learn:
- How ideas become law in Oregon and Washington,
- How to influence rule-making,
- The difference between advocacy and lobbying,
- How to develop community action plans,
- How to propose or identify potential legislative solutions to issues affecting the Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, and Interpreting community, and more!
MEET THE NAD TRAINER
Kim Bianco Majeri is the State Legislative Affairs Coordinator for the National Association of the Deaf (NAD). She holds a M.B.A. degree from North Park University with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management and a master's degree from New York University. With her education and over 20 years of experience in nonprofit and corporate settings, advocacy has always been at the heart of her work. In recent years, events have brought the need of expanded efforts in advocacy to include legislative officials. Kim's duties include focusing on state legislative issues and providing trainings to state advocates across the country.
